The Luna

Three rooms.

Not thirty. Not a category page of king-deluxe-superior-executive variations on the same beige box. Three distinct rooms on Gertrude Street, each one finished by hand and priced honestly, so the choice takes a minute rather than an afternoon.

No minibar. No trouser press. No loyalty program. No turndown chocolate on the pillow. We put the money where it matters: the bed, the bathroom, the silence. Every room has Belgian linen, blackout curtains, and enough hot water to fill the bath twice. That is the program.

The differences between the three are real, not marketing. The Garden Room opens onto a quiet courtyard and is the room we send couples who want to sleep in. The Luna Suite gives you sixty-five square metres, a freestanding bath under the window, and the slow theatre of Gertrude Street below. The Penthouse is the whole top floor — a wrap-around terrace, a full kitchen, and the city skyline lined up behind it. Whichever you choose, the linen, the water pressure, and the silence are the same.

Every rate includes fast Wi-Fi, a proper espresso machine, and the rooftop restaurant two floors up. Check-in is from three, check-out is at eleven, and a later departure is usually a matter of asking rather than paying. Book direct and you get the best rate we offer, a real person on the phone, and the room you actually chose — not the one an algorithm decided to release that night. Cancel up to forty-eight hours ahead and there is nothing to pay.

Stays are for two; the Penthouse and the Luna Suite take a third guest on request. We are a quiet, adults-oriented house rather than a family hotel, and we do not keep cots or connecting rooms. The whole building is non-smoking, assistance animals are always welcome, and street parking is metered with a secure garage two minutes away. Anything else, ask when you book — we would rather tell you the truth before you arrive than surprise you at the door.
