§ §/ INDUSTRY·SAAS / STARTUP

SaaS websites,
built to convert signups.

SaaS landing pages have a specific job: take a cold visitor from 'what does this do?' to 'I'm signing up for a trial' in under three minutes. That requires a clear value proposition, a credible demo, proof that it works, and a signup path that doesn't demand someone's life story. Template SaaS sites get most of this wrong — they look the same, they sound the same, and they don't convert.

The SaaS landing pages that convert well all share a few qualities: a sharp hero value proposition, real product screenshots, case studies with numbers, pricing that doesn't hide anything, and a signup flow that starts before payment. Every one of those is achievable on a custom site. None of them are particularly well-supported by templates, which is why so many SaaS sites look identical and convert badly.

§ 01/ 04·WHAT IT NEEDS

What SaaS startups actually need.

01

Hero value prop that doesn't read like AI wrote it

'The easiest way to [verb] for [audience]' is the AI-generated default. Every SaaS template uses it. Real landing pages lead with a specific outcome — a metric, a before/after, a customer quote. Something you can't get from a template pack.

02

Product screenshots that show actual product

Template SaaS sites use generic UI mockups pretending to be the product. Your actual UI, in high resolution, with real data (anonymised), beats mockups every time. It looks more credible and more distinctive.

03

Case studies with numbers, not testimonials

'Love using this tool!' is not social proof. 'Reduced our processing time from 4 hours to 12 minutes' is. Case studies with specific metrics close more deals than a carousel of smiling headshots ever will.

04

Pricing page that's legible

SaaS pricing pages have converged on a three-column layout with a FAQ underneath. It works because it's predictable. A custom site can do the predictable part AND make the tier comparison genuinely clear, which most templates bungle at the detail level.

§ 02/ 04·COMMON MISTAKES

Mistakes we see most of the time.

×1

Hero animations that take 4 seconds to load

Every SaaS template ships with a 'big-animated-hero' block. They look impressive on launch and tank your Lighthouse score. Fast static hero with one subtle animation beats a heavy 3D scene every time.

×2

Generic 'Built for teams' copy

Every other SaaS site claims to be 'built for teams'. This sentence means nothing. What does your product actually do? For whom? With what measurable outcome? Lead with that.

×3

A demo video that's 7 minutes long

Nobody watches 7-minute product demos from cold. A 60-second tight loop showing the core flow converts 10× better. Budget for good product-shot video, not a corporate overview.

§ 04/ 04·QUESTIONS

Frequently asked.

01

Do you build the product documentation site alongside the marketing site?

Yes — usually in Mintlify, Docusaurus, or a custom docs system that matches your brand. Docs can be in scope with the marketing site or a separate project depending on depth.

02

Can you integrate with our existing signup flow (Auth0, Clerk, Supabase)?

Yes. We integrate with any modern auth system. Marketing site handoff to the app usually happens via a signup button with appropriate query params, and we can build whatever flow your auth provider expects.

03

Do you help with conversion rate optimisation after launch?

Yes — as a separate scope after launch. A/B testing, analytics setup (Posthog, Amplitude, Mixpanel), funnel analysis. We don't do retainers but we do discrete CRO projects when the numbers make sense.
